Default Office is an industrial design practice based in west London. Directed by Alex D'Souza and Joe Ground, Default Office works across climate and consumer technology, homeware, FMCG and furniture. Their design ideology and creative services are employed by hardware start-ups and international organisations across 5 continents.

Past work includes a diverse range of industries, from clean energy to lighting, kitchenware to wildfire prevention. Default Office engages with clients from short-term concept generation sprints to comprehensive end-to-end collaborations that result in considered, forward-thinking products.

Alex and Joe studied together at Brunel Design School before beginning their careers at leading UK design agencies. Alex subsequently freelanced for design and visualisation clients before collaborating with Joe on projects, leading to the formation of Default Office in December 2023.
